Each year, over 5.5 lakh patients are diagnosed with head and neck cancer, accounting for 27.5% of all cancers in India, compared to only 4% in the West.

This is mainly because of the lifestyle-related habits of chewing ghutka, using masheri and khaini, and smoking beedies and cigarettes.

Facilities for the treatment of head and neck cancers are grossly inadequate as is availability of a trained workforce.

Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Head & Neck Cancer Institute of India (HNCII), a division of the CanCare Trust, is committed to solving the problems of head & neck cancer in India—its high incidence and the lack of human and material resources.

Besides Head & Neck Cancers, the institute also has a department for treating women’s cancers, as cancers of the breast is the number 1 in women.

HNCII is a comprehensive treatment centre offering Surgery, Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy, Cancer Rehabilitation Clinic and palliative care all under one roof.

The institute main focus is on Service, Education and Research. It is committed to providing Quality Care at Affordable Prices to all, for which the CHARGES AT HNCII ARE MADE AT PAR WITH THOSE OF THE TATA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL, PAREL.
